Sub – department of Bioprocess Engineering

Modules offered by the Sub-department of Bioprocess Engineering equip students with fundamental knowledge in the field of bioprocess engineering, with particular emphasis on food biotechnology and environmental biotechnology. Research activities within the sub-department focus on enhancing biotechnological methods for the production of food and fermented beverages, particularly the production of malt, beer, and fruit wines. Additionally, research encompasses the application of core biotechnological and engineering principles to environmental protection, including wastewater treatment, the biodegradation of synthetic dyes by fungi, and the reuse of waste lignocellulosic materials as alternative adsorbents for the removal of pollutants from wastewater.
